All of the JBM team stand in complete solidarity with the Black community against all forms of racism and police brutality.
We have always been advocates for diversity and inclusion at JBM. From pro-actively introducing candidates from diverse backgrounds (c.40% of our placements last year were from BAME backgrounds and we hope to increase this next year) to actively getting involved with mentoring students from underprivileged backgrounds.
We know now more than ever though, we have a responsibility to speak up and be proactive in our support of the Black Lives Matter movement, to ensure meaningful change takes place in our society.
If you’ve been struggling to find the right actions to express your support for this movement, here are some of the actions we are committing to as a team, going forward:
- Continuing to place diverse talent into our clients and promoting inclusivity with all of those that we work with
- Pro-actively looking to support (and invest in) Start Ups that have been founded by those from underrepresented groups
- Supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, not just through words but also by donating to the cause
- Continuing to give back to the community through mentoring. We hope to announce a partnership soon that will focus on providing mentorship to young people from BAME and underprivileged backgrounds. We hope lots of our candidates and clients will get involved with this initiative – so please let us know if this is something you’d be keen to support
